A Foundational Company
Rilla is on a mission to index the offline world.
Today, we’ve built the leading sales coaching software for organizations doing sales offline. We have over 1000 customers, including The Home Depot, KKR, Neighborly, and PulteGroup, using our product to enable AI sales coaching across their organization.
We are backed by Google Ventures, Bessemer Ventures, Crew Capital, and Broom Ventures, along with others.
We’re an in office team in NYC with builders who operate like high speed reinforcement learners. We obsess over our customers, move at a high velocity, are not afraid of failure, and look to maximize our real-world impact.
If you want to build the systems and infrastructure for how billions of conversations in the real world are captured and indexed, Rilla is the place to do it.
The Role
We're hiring a Senior Accountant to join Rilla's Finance team. As a founding finance hire, you'll own core accounting processes, drive financial close, and build the internal controls and reporting infrastructure we need to scale. This is a broad, hands-on role — you won't just maintain the books, you'll shape how we do finance as a company.
What You'll Do
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and annual close — journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP, including subscription and multi-period arrangements
Oversee AP, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
Assist with financial statements and internal management reports
Support annual audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors
Drive finance system implementations and workflow automation
Assist with cash flow management and forecasting
Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Partner with operations, finance, and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses
Support benefits administration as the team grows
Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and help us scale
What You’ll Get
The chance to work at one of the fastest-growing startups in the world and build the financial foundation that keeps us moving. You'll have direct access to leadership and a front-row seat to how a high-growth SaaS company operates — at a stage where your work actually shapes the systems we scale on.
Who You Are
A customer obsessive. Someone who deeply cares about delighting clients and solving their pains, not about vanity metrics.
An infinite learner. You are always looking to learn more and learn faster. You feel uneasy when you get complacent, and you’re constantly seeking discomfort.
A team player. You love giving and receiving feedback and learning and growing as a team.
Unafraid of failure. You take risks. You see failure as an opportunity to learn, grow, and be better the next time. In a weird way, you trick your brain into being excited when you fail because it means you get a new opportunity to learn more.
Affinity for the unconventional. You get a kick out of rejecting conventional wisdom. And you’re not afraid to try weird, crazy, and quite possibly stupid ideas.
Extremely focused. You practice extreme focus in everything you do. You’re always looking to prioritize your time and resources to maximum efficiency.
What We Need
2+ years of experience at an accounting firm, ideally with SaaS clients
Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting practices
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite
Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills
CPA certification and a degree in Accounting or Finance
Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up sleeves and work hands-on in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Don’t Work Here
Please don't join if you're not excited about:
Building an AI product for an industry untouched by modern software
Constantly talking to customers in the field
Working ~70 hrs/week in person with some of the most ambitious people in NYC
Attempting to build a generational company, and the intensity required to do so
