In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist leading technical teams in the software architecture and development of Department of War weapon systems. You will serve as the Terminal Defense Weapon System (TDWS) Fire Direction Software Architect in the Integrated Engagement Systems Department, Gun Weapon Systems Division, Adaptable Fire Control Software Design and Development Branch (Code E31) of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.

You will be responsible for software architecture and design decisions for the Terminal Defense Weapon System (TDWS) Fire Direction software.

You will lead technical efforts in concept development, architecture definition, system design, simulation, testing, analysis, requirements definition, integration, and delivery of all TDWS Fire Direction products.

You will lead software development, test, and analysis teams to define, design, develop, test, and certify TDWS Fire Direction deliveries.

You will implement best practices and principles for advocating and leading software design, development, testing, integration, and analysis of software for deployment across various DoW platforms.

You will collaborate with Program and Project Leadership to identify and incorporate capabilities that align to current and future vision.

You will ensure technical rigor and software quality across software and test teams for the TDWS Fire Direction portfolio of work.

You will provide technical leadership across the Adaptable Fire Control Software Design and Development Branch with primary focus on designing software architectures to enable increased capability and ease of integration for fielding.

You will maintain continuous awareness of the technical state of each of the software development efforts across the TDWS Fire Direction Software Development portfolio of work and implement tools to increase product quality and team performance.

You will collaborate with Afloat C-UAS Next Generation Fire Control Lead, Software Engineering Lead, Fire Direction System Technical Project Lead, and leadership to develop long range software planning roadmap across the Branch’s portfolio of work.
