RECREATION ASSISTANT (AUTO HOBBY SHOP)

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Sufficient experience which provider knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties. Cash handling is required. Ability to safeguard funds and equipment. Knowledge of office automation software (Microsoft Excel and Word) is required. Ability to resolve common arithmetic problems and make change required. Must possess the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Luke Auto Hobby. This is a flexible position with no guaranteed hours or benefits. Must be able to routinely lift objects weighting 20 pounds and objects weighing over 50 pounds with assistance and complete a pre-employment physical. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Under the direct supervision of the Auto Hobby Shop Manager and within broad regulations and guidelines, has overall responsibility for the daily operation of the Car Wash Facility, Automotive Detailing Operation, and general condition of Auto Hobby Shop Tools and Equipment. Promptly informs supervisor of accidents, malfunctions and /or damage to equipment or vehicles. Performs minor grounds and facility maintenance such as weed removal, trash removal and general housekeeping of facilities. Performs and/or assists with duties associated with the rental of maintenance stalls, automotive lifts, to include, but not limited to the following; conducting pre and post inspections of maintenance stalls and equipment with the customer, cash handling, desk top computer operations utilizing Window based software applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Access; tool and equipment control and accountability; completes daily reports such as cashier reports and bank deposits. Answer telephone, greets customers. Provides information and safety practices regarding all aspects of the Auto Hobby Shop operations. Perform preventive and minor maintenance on tools and equipment. Occasionally be required to operate passenger and Low Speed Vehicles. Performs other related duties as assigned.
