About the Role

We are looking for a Mobile Platform Tech Lead to own and strengthen the technical foundations of our mobile banking app. This is a platform-focused leadership role, not a product feature lead or purely hands-on mobile IC position,  with a strong emphasis on platform enablement, developer experience, engineering architecture, release quality, and mobile standards. The role supports a small mobile team of approximately 3 engineers working primarily with React Native across iOS and Android.

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the mobile platform operates as a reliable, high-quality foundation so that product teams can move faster with confidence. This means understanding the product teams' needs, removing blockers, driving adoption of new tools and processes through mentoring, documentation and training, and setting high engineering standards for the mobile codebase, while carefully managing the trade-off between standards and product team flow.

While the role is primarily leadership-focused, it requires sufficient hands-on depth to guide architectural decisions and platform improvements. The team currently has native libraries written in Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, and Java that require ongoing maintenance and support. There is also a future consideration around a potential move to Expo, which would be explored and decided collaboratively with the new hire.
